The Twelve Minor Prophets: The Bible of Jesus and the Early Church in Contemporary English is a new translation of the ancient Greek Scriptures known as the Septuagint (abbreviated LXX), which itself is a Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures. The LXX is the oldest translation of the Bible commonly known as the Old Testament. It was widely used in the first century C.E., by both Jewish and Christian Communities in the time of Jesus and the early Christian Church. This fresh, new English translation opens up to us the Bible of the first century. It incorporates insights from traditional Septuagint Greek texts, scholarly English translations, Dead Sea Scrolls, and in particular, the Minor Prophets Scroll ִ8HevXIIgr. About Randolph Wm Bynum

William Randolph Bynum is both a Bible scholar and professor with extensive experience in languages. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Manchester, U.K., with a PhD in biblical languages and interpretation. His published works include The Fourth Gospel and the Scriptures (Brill, 2012). He teaches Bible courses at Northwest Nazarene University, and is also pastor of a multi-cultural church. He lives in Nampa, Idaho, with his wife and love of his life, Kathy. His university teaching and multi-cultural pastoral experience have fueled his desire to present a fresh, new translation of the Bible in contemporary language.
