About David Wheeler

Dr. Wheeler moved to Lynchburg in 2006 to represent the North American Mission Board as a field missionary at LU and LTS. He also teaches Personal Evangelism and Church Growth at LTS. Dr. Wheeler has spent the past 5 years as the Evangelism Resource Group Leader for the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio. Previous to that, he was an Associate Professor of Church Planting and Evangelism at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Forth Worth, Texas, as well as serving as the Evangelism and Prayer Director for 7 years for the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana. He has also been the Senior Pastor of three growing churches in Tennessee and Texas. Dr. Wheeler is widely known for his writings in the area of Servant Evangelism. He often leads conferences for congregations, associations, and state conventions across the country on this topic. Dr. Wheeler also works closely with Bill Faye, author of Share Jesus Without Fear, leading follow-up conferences aimed at mobilizing the church for greater community impact.
