“Blessed are the pure in heart,” Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount. But what does it mean to be “pure in heart”? Often a pure heart is equated with sexual purity. However, the purity Jesus refers to is actually a much bigger and more comprehensive topic. In this video series, Dave and Robin Weidner seek to illuminate God’s plan for purity and why it is so important for living a full and abundant life. The couple draws from their experiences in their marriage and from their ministry of helping people to recover from sexual addiction as they focus on what it means to have a pure heart. The course addresses the meaning of purity, the challenges to purity, and describes a pathway to purity. Each segment concludes with reflection questions that can be used for personal journaling or group discussion.

David Weidner, a cofounder of the Pure & Simple ministry, is the author of Pure in Heart, the audio series that has helped brothers around the world overcome sexual sin. After overcoming his own sexual addiction, he went on to establish Purity Restored with his wife Robin. It is a ministry that helps men, women, and couples learn about the grace and freedom they have in Christ. Dave has a Bachelor’s in biblical languages and a Master’s in organizational psychology. He serves as the Director of Purity Restored.
Robin Weidner is the author of Secure in Heart: Overcoming Insecurity in a Woman’s Life; Eve’s Song; and her new book, Grace Calls: Spiritual Recovery after Abandonment, Addiction or Abuse. Robin ministers to women in the areas of purity, codependency, and security, while coleading marriage seminars alongside her husband Dave through their Purity Restored organization. Robin’s Bachelor’s degree included concentrations in Bible, social work, and English.
