An excellent translation. It is unafraid to bring across the messianic character of Old Testament passages that can be lost in modern translations. For a long time this translation was the standard in Lutheran Schools as it is extremely accessible to young readers without losing meaning like paraphrases do.Charles Abel

I have used editions of this Bible since the late70's when it was first published. It is in modern day English and faithful to the WORD of GOD. I also use the New King James Bible to compare texts.
