Overview

He touched the diseased, restored the dead to life, and gave up the glory of heaven for a life of sorrow, sweat, and tears. Could Jesus really have done this for you and me? The writer of Luke thought so! This energetic young doctor fell in love with the idea of God coming to save all people. Because of Jesus, this idea, this abstract concept, this wishful thought, became reality, became something to live for, became flesh.

Two thousand years have come and gone. Once again the question is asked: could Jesus really have done all this for me? From the rooftops the answer is shouted—yes. Falling in Love with Jesus is a foundational study that introduces you to the life, travels, and teaching of the Savior Jesus Christ. Along your journey through Luke you may begin to see Jesus as never before, and perhaps fall in love with him all over again.

This 35-week study is designed for individual or small group use. Incorporating this series with your preferred Bible, the Passage Guide, and the other Bible study tools in your Logos Bible Software allows you to dive deeper into Bible study with a significant base of knowledge right in front of you.

“It is the good news that salvation is offered to undeserving people on the merits of Christ’s finished work at Calvary.” (Page 18)

“‘Theophilus’ [Thē-äʹ-fĭ-ləs]. (cf. Acts 1:1). Since this proper name means God-lover, we cannot be certain whether he was a personal addressee for this tract or whether the extremely literate Luke was reaching out by the use of this name for all whose hearts were open to making a response to God’s love for them as witnessed in Jesus.” (Page 22)

“In each of the four Gospels, the author’s purpose is to tell the one gospel story for a particular audience and from his own sources of information about Jesus.” (Page 18)

“Hearing the Word of God is not only a great privilege and joy; it is also a great responsibility.” (Page 99)

“the unifying theme of the third Gospel is that Jesus offers salvation to all humankind.” (Page 17)
