Top Highlights

“Rather, the primary goal is to discover the intended flow of thought or argument of the writer of Scripture.” (Page 85)

“The goal of any kind of diagramming is always the same: to better grasp the author’s flow of thought.” (Page 83)

“But phrase diagramming is much easier than technical grammatical diagramming and much clearer in its structure and end product because the words that function most closely together are left together on one line. Consequently phrase diagramming is much quicker than technical diagramming and more directly related to creating a useful lesson/sermon outline. An hour (or less) of diagramming, will produce an outline by which to preach/teach a particular passage of Scripture.” (Page 85)

“Don’t be fooled by the placement of chapter, verse, and paragraph breaks in the English translation. Watch for the author’s flow of thought.” (Page 87)

“AAA Rule = Adjective preceded by an Article is Attributive.” (Page 15)

This book seems to have a lot of potential, but how much weight is given to a refresher in grammar and syntax summaries, and how much of the book is dedicated to the diagramming? My other question is what are the book's dimentions if it were in print? According to the preview, if that is the totality of the page, then it must be a pretty small book. There isn't very much on one page. It is only 110 pages long. And if page 13 is third declension nouns, it hasn't even touched the verb system yet. And we do not know how long the syntax summaries will be, so that makes it much more difficult to assess. So I am concerned that this is more of a refresher course in first year Greek, with minimal help actually diagramming. If at least 50% of the book is dedicated to diagramming, then it is worth it. At least that would be what would draw me in to this book.
