Overview

The English-Hebrew Reverse Interlinear Old Testament English Standard Version provides the English and original language text together. It also provides valuable scholarly information about how various words, phrases, and idioms are translated across a larger corpus. This makes direct study of a specific word or phrase easy, with original language tools only a click away.

Logos Bible Software, in partnership with German Bible Society and Crossway Bibles, has produced this state-of-the-art New Testament reverse interlinear. This unique interlinear breaks with the convention of traditional interlinear texts by keeping the English as the top-line entry and placing the Greek text underneath it. This approach allows you to see firsthand the accuracy with which the ESV translators rendered the Greek text. Logos Bible Software holds the exclusive digital license to the ESV Reverse Interlinear.

The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation of the Bible, emphasizing word-for-word accuracy and precision along with literary beauty and readability. The publishers of the ESV have partnered with Logos Research Systems, the premier Bible research software developer, to publish this helpful resource. It will benefit anyone from serious Bible scholars to those who simply desire to study the English text of the New Testament as closely as possible to the original.

The ESV English-Greek Reverse Interlinear of the New Testament combines original language studies, advanced Bible study report capabilities, and one of the most popular, familiar Bible translations, the English Standard Version, into a complete Bible study tool. Now your Bible studies don’t have to stop with simply reading a passage and doing simple word studies with a concordance or lexicon. You can venture into new language syntax studies, using an advanced, morphologically coded database to provide expert results on any original language study.

This state-of-the-art reverse interlinear of the New Testament breaks with the convention of traditional interlinear texts by keeping the English as the top line entry and placing the Greek text underneath it. This approach allows you to see firsthand the accuracy with which the translators of the English Standard Version of the Bible (ESV) rendered the Greek text.

The ESV English-Greek Reverse Interlinear of the New Testament opens up enormous possibilities of ways to study the original language text of the New Testament. The structure of a Reverse Interlinear presents the modern original language words together, so the translation is taken all the way to the specific word level. It is one thing to read a text that has been translated by someone else, or that gives you phrase or sentence level translations. But with the ESV English-Greek Reverse Interlinear electronic text, you have the ability to see direct translations for every word in the Greek New Testament. This makes direct study of a specific word easy, with original language tools only a click away.
