Called “almost the most beautiful book in English” by C. S. Lewis, Centuries of Meditations was assembled and published for the first time by Bertram Dobell at the turn of the twentieth century. Dobell acquired the original manuscripts from a man who found them in a “barrow of books about to be trashed.” The text features 410 reflections combining Traherne’s literary and theological prowess.
