Overview

Enter the world of the New Testament. A companion to The New Testament in Its World by N. T. Wright and Michael F. Bird, these lectures serve as your passageway from the twenty-first century to the era of Jesus and the first Christians.

Professors Wright and Bird will guide you through how to read the New Testament, the world of Jesus and the early church, deep studies on both Jesus and the Apostle Paul, lectures on every book of the New Testament, as well as how to live the story of the New Testament today.

In addition to numerous studio lectures, on-location sessions will immerse you into the world of the New Testament. A great companion to the book. I found the lectures to be approachable enough for well-studied lay people, but also a nice refresher for seminarians like myself. A great resource.

The video on Revelation is currently broken and cannot be played past the 5:10 mark on any platform (web, PC, mac, mobile). Tech support confirms that this is on their end. Since the content cannot be fully used, my review reflects this. Overall the videos are excellent, but I cannot give a higher review since there is content paid for that is not currently being delivered to the customer.

This series of lectures was very insightful in how it directs the listener to step into the sandals of our early church ancestors, connecting the dots between many historical and theological themes. Wright and Bird guide the listener through the New Testament in a very generous, yet very precise way; making this a good resource for believers of any academic standing. This would be appropriate for anyone interested in biblical study.
