“The Lord will cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thee; they shall come out against thee one way, and shall flee before thee seven ways.” Deut. 28:7 (ASV). It was a hot Iowa night in July at Shiloh at an editor’s meeting when the spirit of the Lord smote the hearts of everyone present with a fresh vision and awareness of the Living Word that He was speaking. This was on Tuesday, July 24, 1979 at Shiloh. During the course of the next few days until Wednesday, August 15, 1979 there were well over fifty services at which the Lord continued to meet our hearts. We called it the Victory Siege. This book of the Victory Siege is presented as a log of truth after truth, breakthrough after breakthrough, that came. Inasmuch as possible, direct quotations are used to summarize the victories that the Lord brought. For some time to come this will be like a supplementary textbook for us to study and have in our hearts the words that God has given us in this breakthrough.
“Devastation really would not have been necessary in the first place if we’d had the right attitudes in our heart toward the Lord and toward everything that He’s doing.” (Page 30)
“While we will have elders that will be shepherds, they will be shepherds to guide the sheep into three things: first, to relate as the heavenly Father’s family; next that they shall be worshiping the Lord in Spirit and in truth; and third, that they will be a prophetic community wholly led and guided by the revelation of the Spirit.” (Page 106)
“Only the heart that is really geared to the Word, focused upon that Word, filled with that Word will see the meaning of our present circumstances in the light of the ultimate victory that He has for us.” (Page 4)
“Let none be too arrogant to do the most menial task, and let none feel so low that he will not attempt the greatest task.” (Page 108)
“It is not the education that makes the teacher really; it is the burden” (Page 36)
