Digital Logos Edition
Perfect Love is a primer on the doctrine, experience, profession, and practice of Christian holiness. Catechetical in form, the book provides a general presentation of the whole subject. The object has been to clearly present and strongly enforce the gospel truth for the benefit of believers, who "hunger and thirst after righteousness." About the Author John Allen Wood (1828-1905) came to know the Lord at the tender age of ten. He chose to serve as a Wesleyan minister and for the first nine years of his ministry avoided the subject of entire sanctification. At a camp meeting in New York, Wood was filled with the Holy Spirit, and his ministry thereafter was marked by an emphasis on holiness. He played a significant role in founding The National Holiness Association, and he preached to thousands the doctrine of Christian perfection. Under his preaching, scores of sinners came to salvation and many backsliding believers were restored to fellowship with the Lord.
