This quarter’s Study Themes are:“God’s Greatest Gift,”“Going Right in a Culture Gone Wrong,” and“Christ the Center.” The greatest gift God gave to humanity was the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. “God’s Greatest Gift,” a four-session study theme, is a reminder of the life-changing significance of Christmas and will challenge believers to carry the message of Christmas to the world.
“Going Right in a Culture Gone Wrong” is a topical study based on selected Old and New Testament passages and looks at five issues affecting our culture—abuse of one’s body; the lack of sexual purity; life being expendable; favoritism and prejudice; and greed. This five-week study theme tackles these issues head on and shows us the biblical counterpart to a culture gone awry.
Adults can stand for Christ and what is right in the midst of a culture gone wrong.n “Christ the Center” is a four-session study theme based on Paul’s Letter to the Colossians and is about the centrality and sufficiency of Jesus Christ.
The Herschel Hobbs Commentary contains expository treatment of each lesson passage in the adult Bible Studies for Life curriculum for this quarter. The approach includes both “Search the Scriptures” and “Spiritual Transformations.” Greek and Hebrew words are expounded, the message of the Scripture is explained, and its truth is applied to life. The Bible exposition is based on the King James Version.
