What if listening to God was easy? What if you could learn how to hear God's voice and hear him speak to you all within fifteen minutes? What if after developing a practice of listening to God, your life was totally transformed? God wants to talk to us, and he doesn't want it to be difficult. With over sixty stories of listening to God interspersed throughout the text, this highly readable book gives a simple method we can immediately adopt to help us hear God's voice on a daily basis. The later chapters show us how we can employ listening to God in discipleship and inner healing prayer. The final chapter demonstrates how people from other religions progress in their spiritual journeys when we help them listen to Jesus. What does this book have that other books lack? A practical step-by-step that has worked hundreds of times.
“I devoured Neil Miller’s What if Listening to God Was
Easy? It is enjoyable, fun, and easy to read, and it is filled
with stories, just as Jesus’ teaching was. From Genesis to
Revelation, the Bible is full of stories of people hearing God’s
voice, seeing visions, receiving and interpreting dreams, and
releasing the power of God. Neil describes how all this is
available today, and how these divine encounters work transforming
wonders in people’s lives in South Asia. Though we are not all
called to be missionaries as Neil is, we are all called to make
disciples. Neil has given us practical insights into how we can be
more effective in this high calling. I strongly encourage you to
learn from him.”
—Mark Virkler, Founder, Communion with God Ministries; President,
Christian Leadership University; and author of 4 Keys to Hearing
God’s Voice
“What if Listening to God Was Easy? is a well-written,
biblically based, wonderfully illustrated, and profoundly important
book. Neil Miller has provided a resource that will inspire,
instruct, and engage even the most casual readers, and as a result,
position them for a life-changing encounter with God.”
—Terry Wardle, President, Healing Care Ministries, and author of
Some Kind of Crazy: An Unforgettable Story of Profound
Brokenness and Breathtaking Grace
“Having been raised in an evangelical world in which prayer was
mostly about talking to God and expressing my thoughts to him, it
is delightful to have a book filled with examples of people who
have learned to take as much interest and time in listening to God
speak. Neil Miller weaves together Scripture, story, and theology
in ways that are easy to read but profoundly insightful. I have
been in rooms full of leaders who profess to know and follow Jesus,
but who, unhappily, have relied almost entirely on their own wisdom
to solve problems and make decisions rather than saying, ‘Let’s ask
Jesus what he thinks on the matter.’ Yes, it can be that
easy!”
—Charles Davis, former International Director, The Evangelical
Alliance Mission (TEAM), and author of Making Disciples across
Cultures
“An honest book, wrapped in Scripture, and hard to put down. It is
inspiring to read example after example of lives being changed by
learning to listen to Jesus. The how-to format Neil lays out is
easy to follow and easy to replicate to others. This book will
change how you listen to Jesus, thus changing how you encounter
him. I am convinced, as Neil writes, ‘that the missing piece is an
ongoing, live meeting with Jesus.’ You will be convinced of this
too by the time you are done reading this book.”
—Murray Dueck, Director, Samuel’s Mantle Training Society, and
author of The Dreams We Dream: Learning to Live in the Wonder of
God’s Night Language
“This book reads like a love letter to the church—an engaging and
winsome invitation to sit at the feet of Jesus and to hear him tell
us we have ‘chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away.’
This book is a gift to the church—for those of us who long for
greater intimacy with God and want to declare again and again, ‘You
are the God who sees me.’ This book is a call to the church—to move
our worship beyond mere knowledge about God to a dynamic knowing of
God ‘in spirit and truth.’ Drawing upon extensive biblical study,
persistent personal devotion, and fascinating cross-cultural
ministry experiences, this book is sure to help every pilgrim in
the journey of faith to grow in their discernment of God’s loving
voice.”

“Like Neil Miller, I am a missionary kid, and I love reading
missionary stories. But this book in particular captured my
attention. I have been practicing listening prayer for over twenty
years, and in my ministry, I never tire of hearing God stories that
result from inner-healing prayer sessions. A life transformed is
the greatest testimony to God’s work in a person’s life. I applaud
the author’s courage to put into writing what may seem
controversial in some contexts and cultures. His instructions are
thorough and balanced and clearly give limits to what he has been
trained and called to do. Although he gives plenty of sound
reasoning, along with personal anecdotes and scriptural references,
the true power of his words is in the application. Try it!”
