Overview

Because of the prominence of prophecy in Scripture, many excellent books have appeared dealing with prophetic subjects. Until recently, however, the treatment of prophecy has been either apologetic or expository, and prophetic themes have been developed individually apart from their relation to the whole revealed prophetic program. Much of our knowledge has been only fragmentary and unrelated. Dr. Dwight Pentecost’s monumental text, Things to Come, has changed all that. In this massive, highly successful book, Dr. Pentecost has synthesized the whole field of prophecy into a unified biblical doctrine, a systematic and complete biblical eschatology. With nearly a quarter of a million copies sold, Things to Come has earned its place in the library of the pastor, the scholar, and the seminarian or Bible institute student. In addition, it offers a comprehensive and accessible study for anyone interested in the important subject of biblical prophecy.

This classic was required for my seminary work. Highly recommend despite its age - 1958 (Consider Dr. Pentecost's works as well!)

A comprehensive examination of many issues concerning eschatology. For an honest evaluation of the wealth of Scripture, I highly recommend this monumental work as an able assistant in one's own personal search of the Scriptural revelation and all without the escape hatch of spiritualizing what lies future of our current date. The church seems to have been robbed of its eager anticipation of Christ's return and the literal kingdom He will bring before the eternal state. I have this book in another Bible software program and am looking forward to its Logos publication

I have this book 1964 printing. Best Book on Eschatology. I would strongly recommend this book. Hard evidences with Biblical references for support. This is a Premillennial Pre-Tribulation book with support. Methods of Interpretation and its history; interpretation of prophesy; Biblical covenants and Eschatology and prophesies regarding the Millennium kingdom; and much more; 598 pages. I would not be without this treasure.
