For anyone considering this purchase, a 9 minute YouTube video by Best Bible Commentaries on this may be helpful. I cannot directly link to it here, but it can be easily found. Here's a quick summary: - He notes that the NIVAC is probably the most popular commentaries series. - There are 44 volumes in the NIVAC starting in 1995 with the most recent released around 2022. - In the main commentaries, content is divided into three sections: Original Meaning, Bridging Contexts, and Contemporary Significance. - This volume has very short (couple paragraph) intro to each book, a book outline, and then only two sections for each passage grouping: Original Meaning and Application. - Much of the new volume seems to be cut and pasted from the original 44 volumes, though some editing seems to have been done as well. - There are 90 million words in the original 44 volumes. This one-volume edition contains about 1 million words. - This 90:1 average word ratio seems to be more extreme (more cut out) for OT books and less extreme (less cut out) for NT books. - Overall, he believes this is an incredible resource because it contains summary applications from very well-reviewed authors for the entire Bible in one volume. I hope you find this information helpful as you consider this purchase! God bless!

I am thinking about it but the sections I am reading bother me because of the way it is written. I have issues with the NIV translation. It may cloud my thinking. But this is one book I would rather look at and check out before adding it my Logos Library as a trusted source. To be honest I trust material written in the 1800's more than some of the material written in the past couple of decades.

Seems that this is a concise book. - This comprehensive single edition addresses every biblical passage, offers insights into each section's contemporary significance, and combines easily understandable exposition with practical application, making it useful for personal study and teaching. 1808 pages, hardcover from Zondervan.

Is this an abridge version of the individual volumes?

There are 44 NIVAC books. So if the 'one volume edition' has 1808 pages, that about 40 pages per book. All NIVACs combined ought to have at least 10,000 pages. So I'm wondering what they are doing here. Could anyone clarify?
