Overview

The New Testament for Everyone Series (18 vols.) provides a series of guides to the books of the New Testament. N.T. Wright has undertaken a tremendous task: to provide guides to all the books of the New Testament, and to furnish them with his own fresh translation of the entire text.

Throughout the series, Wright’s own translation is combined with a highly readable discussion, with background information, useful explanation and interpretation, and thoughts as to how the text can be relevant to our lives today.

For additional volumes in this series, see our Old Testament for Everyone Commentary Series (17 vols.). Or, you can save even more with our Bible for Everyone Commentary Collection (35 vols.). Interested in more? Check out the Lent for Everyone Collection (3 vols.)!

  • Offers fresh translation of the entire text
  • Provides background information about each text
  • Discusses the relevance of the text for today
  • Includes a glossary of words and phrases for further explanation
This enterprise is probably the most exciting thing to have happened in Christian education in Britain for many years.

The "New Testament for Everyone Series (18 vols.)" has been well authored as an enjoyable easy reader. Each segment covers a passage and usually includes a comfortable sharing of relatable stories with which one may cozy a cup of tea each evening. In a world voluminous in flamboyant speech it is rather refreshing to give the dictionary a breather and leisure biblical studies in a more heart-to-heart manner. Personal growth as opposed to intellectual growth would be my categorical listing for these works. Coming from an Arminian background, I personally do not identify with the Doctrine of Election, Predestination, etc., as N.T. Write makes lite case for in these works. I have seen/heard him allude to man's free will in other sources but did not think he applied or expounded upon those points with the arguments presented here in these works in the topics of Election/Predestination. 3 Stars are given from me for the truly enjoyable read, and only 3 stars for what I felt to be the lack of clear doctrine.
