William Robertson Nicoll (1851–1923) was a pastor, journalist, and editor. He studied at the University of Aberdeen until 1874, when he was ordained as a minister. He served as the editor of The Expositor and British Weekly.

    A very significant editor of commentary and biblical series up to the early years of the 20th Century. Many of the authors he anthologised have lasting reputations (Moffatt, Plummer, Dods, Milligan, A B Bruce, Denney...). Nicoll's works will always get at least a look from me.
