Compare the Gospels side-by-side

Exploring the Gospel narratives has never been easier. This interactive tool displays an outline of each Gospel’s text in an easy-to-read chart that lets you expand and collapse data as needed. An elegant display of variations and connections across Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John helps you explore the parallel accounts of Jesus’ life.

See a section heading that piques your interest? Expand that section and it shows the text variations across the four Gospels. Quickly scan parallel accounts by heading, and compare two, three, or all four accounts at once.

  • Demonstrate variations and parallels throughout all four Gospels
  • Compare every account of a Gospel event
  • Investigate the synoptic question

How it works:

  • Maps all four Gospels onto an elegant chart
  • Displays and collapses as much or as little information as you want

Parallel Gospel Reader could be more useful if it were more "user friendly" as it requires the user to tinker with it to get the passages to display. Secondly, I have spent about 30 min looking for parallel passages that were missing from the Reader. For example, "Parable of the Sower" Matt 8:4-5 | Mark 4:1-20 | Luke 8:4-15. Why are these verses not listed and compared?

Please correct the database for "Harmony of the Gospels" by Easley, Kendall; Cox, Steven L. Section 54 appears out of order with the rest of the dataset (after section 36). The dataset for A. T. Robertson's version of this harmony appears to be correct. Otherwise, this is a very helpful feature.
