Steve Nelson is an ordained SDA pastor and cofounder of The Hope of Survivors, a ministry addressing the issue of pastoral sexual abuse and misconduct. He is currently president of the organization, and speaks internationally on the issue. He is a board certified biblical counselor (BCBC) through the Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors, a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and a certified belief therapist (CBT) through the Therapon Institute. He is also a member of the Adventist Association of Family Life Professionals (AAFLP).
Samantha Nelson cofounded The Hope of Survivors, a ministry addressing the issue of pastoral sexual abuse and misconduct. She has worked with hundreds of families who have been abused by those in the role of spiritual authority and helps to facilitate healing in the lives of those who contact the ministry. She currently serves as vice president and CEO of The Hope of Survivors, and is also an international speaker on clergy sexual abuse. She holds North American Division certification as an Adventist Community Services caseworker, received the 2004 Woman of Distinction Award from the Northern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and a board certified biblical counselor through the Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors. She is a certified belief therapist (CBT) through the Therapon Institute and a member of the Adventist Association of Family Life Professionals (AAFLP).
Martin Weber, during four decades of ministry, pastored 11 congregations throughout the United States and Canada, trained clergy on five continents, was an associate editor of Ministry magazine, and served as a police chaplain. He attended Regent College and Carey Theological College, doing doctoral research on the attrition of young adult children of SDA clergy. Weber is also the author of My Tortured Conscience and God Was There: True Stories of a Police Chaplain. He currently manages SDA content at Logos Bible Software.
