This volume is the transcript of a DVD in which the cofounders of The Hope of Survivors, Pastor Steve and Samantha Nelson, share their painful yet triumphant story. Candidly and poignantly, they testify how as lay members they were victimized by a predatory pastor. Amid a spider’s web of lies, deceit, adultery and abuse, Samantha attempted suicide, surviving by a miracle. The Nelsons triumphed over despair and vengeance. Now a pastoral couple serving churches in Iowa, their ministry of hope and healing is in global demand.
HopeSpeak compiles short essays on a variety of topics related to clergy sexual abuse—prevention, healing, and accountability.
