—J. I. Packer, Regent College

Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem is a fair-minded, thorough text in systematic theology—the best I have seen in recent years in terms of convenient organization, clarity, and a willingness to tackle the most salient issues of the day. This is an admirable blending of the scholarly and devotional elements seldom achieved in academic books.

—Paige Patterson, Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary

Wayne Grudem understands that every Christian `does theology,' that doctrine inevitably finds its application in the believer's life. Clearly written, this volume demonstrates an appreciation for the rich diversity of traditions within the body of Christ while at the same time reminding us that our faith is rooted in historic Christian truth.

—Chuck Colson, Prison Fellowship Ministries

Grudem’s book...stands squarely in the historical Reformed tradition on the main issues of theology, including the doctrine of Scripture, the doctrine of God, and the doctrine of salvation....Perhaps the strongest feature of the book is its accessibility. Grudem does not water down the meat of theology. But by minimizing technical terminology and by including hymns, questions, and indications of application, he makes systematic theology much more accessible and life-invigorating for a large number of Christian readers.

—Vern S. Poythress, Westminster Theological Seminary

Grudem has opened the windows to let fresh air blow away mustiness and permit the Holy Spirit to infuse soundly biblical, clearheaded evangelical theology with new life and power.

—Jack Hayford, The Church on the Way, Van Nuys, California

Dr. Grudem’s new work is characterized by exegetical depth, clarity of expression, and contemporary relevance. It deserves wide acceptance as a text in systematic theology.

—John Jefferson Davis, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary

To be honest this work seems to me more like a collection of bible study group material for American Evangelical laypeople than a Systematic or Biblical Theology. If people want to read a very simple and ultra conservative perspective, this work has a place. But for a serious work of Biblical or Systematic Theology I would recommend other scholars' works.

Grudem is vastly overrated as an ethicist, thinker and theologian. This has the advantage of being readable for the untrained, but this means that it appeals to readers who are unaware of its methodological shallowness. Look elsewhere.

I am listening to the Audible of the second edition reading along with this version. It is very similar. I can follow Grudem's flow easily and on the parts that are different, see any changes that are worthy of noting. I like the PDF's that go along with the 2 massive audible books (about 80 hrs). Grudem is right up my alley for theological systematics. The new editions are really for people who have not purchased the old ones, and Logos does not offer nominal upgrades worth purchasing, so I am happy with this edition.

It is really help full to understand theology what is really hard subject because of advance vocabulary and it is all about our Lord almighty. But, this book has written with under stable vocabulary. This is one of the book I am enjoying most in the field of theology......

I own the print version and am reading it with another pastor. We both agree this is the strangest organization for a systematic theology we have ever read. We are half way through it. While the study has been a good review the writing of certain chapters distract from his message. So far he has not broken any new ground or has written anything profound. That said studying this book with another pastor has been a positive experience. The questions at the end of each chapter are nearly worthless but the hymns make for wonderful meditation. The time line of authors has also been helpful. This would be a very good book for someone who has not had formal seminary training.
