Common Questions About Our Subscriptions
FAQ
01
Why is Logos moving to a subscription?
The world is changing fast, and customers have told us they don’t want to wait two years to get new and improved features that would help them get deeper insights in less time. As a result, Logos must evolve to enable truth-seeking at the same pace as the world we live in. With a subscription, you’ll get new features and improvements as soon as they’re ready—no more waiting for two years.
We’ll also be able to respond to your needs faster, turning good features into great ones and releasing new capabilities created to meet specific needs. Plus, we can include advanced AI and cloud-backed features that require ongoing support and help make Logos both easier to use and more powerful so that you can focus on understanding and communicating Scripture. You’ll also enjoy valuable perks and lower upfront costs, making it easier to try Logos without a big commitment.
02
Will I lose my features, books, or investment in Logos?
No! Your investment in Logos is safe. You’ll always be able to access your content in Logos for free.
You aren’t required to subscribe to keep access to content or features you already own. The subscription is for anyone who wants access to the latest version of Logos which will get new features or improvements roughly every six weeks.
If you’ve already purchased Logos packages or feature sets, those are yours to keep—you won’t lose them. You’ll continue to be able to use the features you’ve paid for, regardless of whether you subscribe to the latest version.
03
If I buy new books or libraries while I’m subscribed and then unsubscribe, will I lose them?
No, the books or libraries you buy are yours forever. If you unsubscribe, you will only lose access to what was included in the subscription.
04
My school already partners with Logos, and we want to add a subscription so everyone can access the new features. How do I do that?
We’re excited to get you our newest features! Your students will see significant savings compared to what they'd pay to subscribe individually, and you get to ensure everyone in the school has the same level of access to the tools they need. Connect with your account executive for specific details on how to subscribe.
05
What’s included in the new subscription?
The subscription includes our newest features (including time-saving AI tools) and temporary access to a library. Any books you purchase, or any your school provides via a custom library, are yours to keep permanently. You can see and compare our subscription packages here.
06
I’m a student. Should I upgrade to the subscription, or will my school do that for me?
We suggest asking your school if they’re planning to partner with us or if they’re planning to add the subscription to their partnership. If nothing else, let your school know that you are interested in the subscription!
As a student, you also have access to our Academic Discount Program, an exclusive program for students and faculty that offers a 30% discount on annual subscription prices and up to 50% off select resources. Learn more here.
07
Do we have a timeline for French, Korean, Chinese, and Verbum subscriptions?
We launched subscriptions to Verbum in November 2024. Logos French, Verbum Spanish and Verbum Portuguese will launch in early 2025. Stay tuned!
08
What will Logos for Education subscription pricing look like?
Great question! Your account executive can help you determine your school’s specific pricing. Your students will see significant savings compared to what they'd pay to subscribe individually, and you get to ensure everyone in the school has the same level of access to the tools they need.

Common Questions About Contracts & Libraries
FAQ
01
How does the change impact our existing contract and current licenses?
The change won’t impact your contract or licenses for the entire contract term. You’ll still have the licenses listed in your contract, and the product you purchased will still be available to distribute to students.
02
How does the change impact future contracts?
Moving forward, our contracts will offer Logos features via subscription. While your institution’s users will have subscription access to the features and books that are included in the subscription, they will own books your school selects in your Inclusive Access or custom library solutions.
(See question 5 to learn how we will offer perpetual licenses moving forward.)
03
If we signed a contract right before the new version came out, will we get an automatic upgrade? If so, into which level of the subscription?
That’s a very good question! Your account executive can talk through your options with you.
04
My school is subscribed to Logos Cloud. What do we do when our Cloud subscription expires?
We encourage you to work with your account executive to move to our new Max subscription when your current contract ends.
In short, Max was designed to fit the same needs that Logos Cloud met at your school, primarily giving your school’s users access to the newest Logos features as soon as they’re released. Keep in mind that depending on your schools contract, users will lose access to the features after they graduate. Users who qualify for a partnership fallback license will not own any AI or cloud-based features. Access to these features will be lost once a user loses access to Logos Cloud or the active contract ends.
05
Can we still purchase a perpetual license; for example, Logos 10?
Yes! We’ll continue to offer perpetual license purchase options for Logos for Education through the end of 2025. Reach out to your account executive to learn more.
06
Can we still purchase a custom library or Inclusive Access package for our students?
Yes! We’ll continue to offer custom libraries and textbook delivery through our Inclusive Access program. In fact, our subscription stacks on top of a custom library and Inclusive Access to create a powerful research platform for your students. Reach out to your account executive to learn more.
07
Will students lose access to Logos after graduation?
It depends! Students will always have access to the free version and will continue to own their books and resources. If your school has given a perpetual license (L10, for example) to a student, they’ll continue to own what they currently have.
If your school has purchased a subscription (such as Max, Pro, or Logos Research Subscription), students will only have access to the content and features associated with the subscription while they are enrolled at your school. Upon graduation, students will lose access to their subscription, but we will offer graduates exclusive discounts and the option to take over the subscription. Additionally, your school will have the option to purchase a partnership fallback license that allows their students to keep a version of Logos for life.

Common Questions About AI
FAQ
01
Does AI really have a place in Bible study?
Christians have always been at the forefront of technology when it comes to accessing and understanding the Bible, whether adopting the codex in the second century or the printing press in the fifteenth. However, AI has limitations, fallibilities, and biases because it mirrors and sometimes amplifies weaknesses found in all human authors. That’s why Logos always lets you know when you’re reading AI-generated content. In addition, Logos’s AI tools are backed by your Logos library and designed to ensure AI is used responsibly and in a way appropriate for Bible study.
To further explore this topic, you may be interested to read “A Theology of AI by a Bible Software Nerd” by Mark Ward and “How Should We Think About AI & Bible Study” by Mark Barnes, published on Word by Word.
02
Will more AI-assisted features be available through subscription in the future?
We are working to apply the use of AI responsibly so that the Holy Spirit’s leading is always foremost. Within those guidelines, we plan to offer additional carefully selected capabilities incorporating AI assistance. See more about our approach to AI here.
03
Is there a usage limit on AI tools?
To ensure a fair level of access for every user, each subscriber gets a fair usage limit on AI tools each month. The limits are generous—typically, we allow thousands of uses of AI features each month before you hit the limit. The app will let you know when you’re getting close.
04
Can I buy more AI credits à la carte if I run out?
No, but Pro gives you double the credits of Premium, and Max gives you 50% more credits than Pro. In the unlikely event that you use all your AI credits, you can upgrade your plan to increase your credit allotment or wait for your credits to renew at the start of your next month.
05
Does the AI save my data? If so, what is it used for?
Some of our tools allow users to send private documents or copyrighted content to AI services. We only send the specific content the user requests, and we never use this data to train AI, nor do we allow any of our technology partners to do so. We require our technology partners to use this data only for the purposes of our tool and not to retain it longer than is needed for that purpose.
06
When am I getting AI-powered results from my library vs. something else?
We are transparent and open about which parts of which tools use AI so users can choose whether and how to use those tools for themselves. AI-generated content is always clearly indicated, so no student or pastor can unknowingly use AI-generated content in their papers or sermons.
07
How does your AI work? Are you using ChatGPT/OpenAI?
We use a variety of large language models and other AI tools and choose each one based on its suitability for specific tasks. We monitor the effectiveness of these models and can quickly switch to better-performing or more reliable models if we discover frequent bias or other adverse issues.

FAQ
The partnership fallback license is designed to allow students and faculty to retain access to some of their Logos features when they are associated with a Logos partner school.
