Top Highlights

“If when gone, we are not missed by the saints, it is a plain proof that we have not been strengthening their hands in God, it is a plain proof that we have not been ministering to their spiritual profit, that we have not been helping them forward in the things of God.” (Page 9)

“The godly aim of our lives should be that when we die we may be missed.” (Page 8)

“Are we in the habit of praying day by day that God would be pleased, by the power of His Spirit, to work, through the preaching of the gospel, that whenever and wherever His word is set forth He would work?” (Pages 71–72)

“Never let your religion be the religion of feeling, but let it all spring from what you see in this blessed Book.” (Page 94)

“If there is then one thing that we need more than another, it is an increase of faith, in order that we may take right steps, surer steps, firmer steps; yea, run with alacrity in the ways of the Lord. To the end of our course we therefore should pray, ‘Lord, increase my faith!’” (Page 53)

Praise for the Print Edition

George Müller’s life was one long witness to the prayer-hearing God; and, throughout, God bore him witness that his prayers were heard and his work accepted. The pages of his journal are full of striking examples of this witness. . . .

George Müller

George Müller (1805–1898) was a pastor and philanthropist. He spent many decades dedicated to pastoral and evangelical ministry. Müller pastored Ebenezer Chapel in Devon, England; he also founded the Scriptural Knowledge Institution for Home and Abroad.

Together with his wife, Müller built and operated five orphanages that cared for several thousands of orphans annually. Relying solely on unsolicited funds, he distributed vast quantities of Bibles and other historic texts and supported many overseas missionaries.

Starting in 1875, George Müller spent nearly two decades in missions throughout Europe, North America, New Zealand, and India. His language proficiency allowed him to preach without aid in English, French, and German. In addition to his missionary travels, Müller received hundreds of invitations to speak.

His publications include Brief Narrative of Facts Relative to the New Orphan House, Jehovah Magnified: Addresses, Autobiography of George Müller, and more, which can be found in the George Müller Collection (12 vols.).
