Digital Logos Edition
The New Testament is a Jewish book, written by Jews, initially for Jews. Its central figure was a Jew. His followers were all Jews, yet no translation—except this one—really communicates its original, essential Jewishness. Freshly rendered into English using the Greek texts, this is a must for learning about first-century faith.
This edition includes only the New Testament text. Purchase the Complete Jewish Bible for the full Bible text.
Matthew 5:16: In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:17: “Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete.
Matthew 7:21: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants.
Matthew 10:40–42: “Whoever receives you is receiving me, and whoever receives me is receiving the One who sent me. Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive the reward a prophet gets, and anyone who receives a tzaddik because he is a tzaddik will receive the reward a tzaddik gets. Indeed, if someone gives just a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my talmid — yes! — I tell you, he will certainly not lose his reward!”
Matthew 18:35: This is how my heavenly Father will treat you, unless you each forgive your brother from your hearts.”
Romans 2:7: To those who seek glory, honor and immortality by perseverance in doing good, he will pay back eternal life.
Romans 2:8: But to those who are self-seeking, who disobey the truth and obey evil, he will pay back wrath and anger.
Romans 3:28: Therefore, we hold the view that a person comes to be considered righteous by God on the ground of trusting, which has nothing to do with legalistic observance of Torah commands.
Romans 8:10–11: However, if the Messiah is in you, then, on the one hand, the body is dead because of sin; but, on the other hand, the Spirit is giving life because God considers you righteous. And if the Spirit of the One who raised Yeshua from the dead is living in you, then the One who raised the Messiah Yeshua from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit living in you.
1 Thessalonians 2:12: we encouraged you and comforted you and appealed to you to lead lives worthy of God, who calls you into his Kingdom and glory.
